So, in my family, when our kids have birthday's it starts the beginning of birthday-palooza. What is birthday palooza you ask... Well, it consists of: 1. the little ones getting way to many gifts. So many in fact, on days that they are not receiving gifts, they want to know why they have not got their gifts yet and when they will show up. 2. Mommy, making/eating way too much cake and ice cream. 3. A little girl that is so worn out from all of the festivities, that she tells me that she is tired all day log, and actually asks for a nap! So here marks the beginning of 2 full weeks of birthday extravaganza!

So we start with a pool party with my side of the family. We have been lucky our whole lives to always have a great pool to swim at. My grandparents built a bunch of condos when we were little, and we were lucky enough that they had a pool with it. Some of my favorite memories as a kid are going swimming at the condos. My mom would take us swimming up there almost every Monday. It was a tradition to always stop and get 3 corn dogs for a dollar at the gas station, and a thing of potato logs for us to share. Do they still make those? Well, Navie must have got her love of this pool from me, because she always wants to go swimming at the condos, and looks for every chance that she can to go! She loved having a swimming party, and took it upon herself to invite EVERYONE that she saw to the party.

We got together, and had some great food and some good laughs. I love this picture of my grandpa. He is being his usual foul self! Ha ha, he really is a funny guy. He gets his humor by complaining a lot, trying to sell you something (usually a race horse), or trying to buy something from you (generally my babies). Anybody that knows Warren, knows exactly what I am talking about. Getting married was the best thing that ever happened to me. My grandpa stopped picking on me all of the time, and turned his attention to Dax.
Like any party, we had a little of this. The poor birthday girl got to pick the surfer teddy bear cupcake, with the gum surf board, and when I asked her to show me her cupcake she dropped it on the ground. She was so heartbroken, that I quickly ran and grabbed her the bikini bear cupcake... But it just wasn't the same!
You can tell I take a lot of pictures of my kids. When I told her to hold up the new cupcake for a picture, she instantly got rid of the frowns, and put on the camera smile! That's my girl!!!

We ate the cakes that I cooked all day ;), and Navie opened a ton of presents. All in all it was a great birthday, and a great opening for Navie's fun 4th year Birthday-Palooza!
Stay tuned for Dax's side of the family party, the actual birthday, and her little kid birthday party!

...{me}...

Hey! I am a mommy of two little ones, Navie (4), and Ridge(1). I have a great hubby, Dax, who works hard at a local software company. I do a little of this, and a lot of that. I work as a computer consultant a couple mornings a week, take a picture or two in my spare time, and make anything that I can! Life is good!

Happy Birthday Navie!
Kami, the cakes turned out so cute...good job!
that's great that she hears "smile" and automatically turns it on. You have them well trained. Looks like such a fun birthday! Happy Birthday Navie!
