So Navie had her first day of preschool on Wednesday. She has been asking to start school for the last two years, so she was so ready to begin! We went shopping with her the week before school started to get her some school supplies, and she picked out her own backpack. I have to be honest, as she was looking at all of the Barbie and Dora backpacks I was cringing a little inside. I was totally going to let her pick ANY one that she wanted, but I had just envisioned her walking into school with this cute stylish backpack, and it just didn’t look like it was going to happen… Well, that is until I saw a cute little flower one. I showed it to her and she asked me, “Momma, do you like it?” and of course I did. So she told me that if it was my favorite, then it was hers too! So we took it home added a little bling bling to it, and viola a cute stylish backpack that I had envisioned her sporting!

I had to wake her up in the morning, and she was not excited to get up. If anybody knows Navie, knows that she does NOT love to be woken up. She kept on telling me how tired that she still was. But, as soon as she had woke up enough to realize that she was really going to school today, she couldn't wait to get there. We had her favorite breakfast Suzies (crepes) before she went, and she loved that. As soon as we got there she saw her friends Katelynn and Bailey going into the school, and she just ran after them. I had to beg her to come back to get a picture with them!

When we were walking up to the classroom door there was a little girl clinging onto her dad, crying not wanting for him to go. I hurried Navie past her, sometimes panic is contagious and I didn’t want Navie to catch it. Oh, who was I kidding?! Navie walked straight into the class like a pro, and went and got her name tag from her one of her teachers. I had to yell at her from the door to tell her goodbye and that I would be back to pick her up.

When I picked her up I asked her what she did for her first day and she said, “I don’t know I think I forgot.” Great… but, after a little bit of coercing I got out of her that they read one book about a mom and a kid, and the mom always kissed the kid’s hand. Then she decided that they may have read one or two, or maybe six or seven or eight books that day. She brought home her first art project that she created. They colored a picture of a rooster and she was excited to show me it. She said that she had fun and couldn't wait to go back to school tomorrow! She was sad when I told her she had to wait until the next week to go back! I am glad that she is so independent and loved going to school for the first time!

I totally hear you on the backpacks. They make some lame backpacks. I love the bling you added! I remember having Suzies with you! Yummy! I'm glad Navie had a great day!

The bling is so cute. What can you do with a boy's backpack? I bet they read "The Kissing Hand". It's a cute one and a great one for the first day of starting something new!

Yeah, so much for cute backpacks at our house. Dallin chose Spiderman! Oh well, at least he will never have the shoes!

They are so big! I can't believe it!

Hey! I am a mommy of two little ones, Navie (4), and Ridge(1). I have a great hubby, Dax, who works hard at a local software company. I do a little of this, and a lot of that. I work as a computer consultant a couple mornings a week, take a picture or two in my spare time, and make anything that I can! Life is good!
