So the last week in September, Dax and I took a great trip to New York.  Dax’s brother lives there, so it was a great excuse to take the week off and go on vacation and see him!  Dax’s parents watched the kids all week!  YEP ALL WEEK!  It was so nice and really just a totally needed break!  Last October we went to Hawaii without kids, this year it was New York, I think we have been spoiled!  Next year… ha ha ha, ya right!  Picture 189  In front of Josh’s housePicture 041

The day that we got there it sprinkled for a bit, so we are both a little wet (Okay, I know I am making excuses for my hair).  The Brooklyn Bridge was awesome, we walked over it and had the BEST ice cream ever on the other side!Picture 055

Yep, this view while eating yummy ice cream… priceless!

That night Dax and I went on a date.  We saw Mary Poppins on Broadway.  It was great!  Marry Poppins Wednesday night, and then we went and say Mamma Mia on Thursday, it was SO fun!

Then we skipped dinner and went to Serendipity for desert.  After seeing it on Oprah, and on the Food Channel, I had to visit it while I was there.  It was SO SO good, and seriously the best night just hanging out with the hubby in New York!  Oh, and desert cost us $45 dollars… ha ha ha

A picture any wife would be proud of! (This is the famous bull on Wall Street)  If you think this picture is bad, you should have seen some pictures others were taking!!!

Then I went out and visited one of my friends, Shae, at her job at Martha Stewart.  Got the grand tour of Martha’s offices (it was exactly as you would expect it to be)!  Then we went to dinner.  We had a ton of fun, it was so nice catching up and having a girls night.  Dax also got the chance to hang out with his bro, so it worked out perfect!

It was THE BEST trip ever!  It was nice seeing Josh, exploring a city that I have always wanted to go to, having adult conversations, staying up late, sleeping in, eating WAY too much, and just being on vacation with the hubby!  Thank you so much Keith and Lanet for taking the kids all week and giving us this FUN experience!

Things we did that I didn’t post

Ellis Island, shopping (a LOT), seeing the Broadway play Mama Mia, took a boat tour of Manhattan island, road the Staten Island Ferry, went to Wall Street, farmers market, and I am sure more that I just can’t remember ;)

What the kids did while we were gone!!!

Went to the circus, went to the Harvest festival, Mitzi took Navie to the Hannah Montana concert, the Treehouse museum twice… Yep they were SPOILED ROTTEN!!!

Good for you guys for having a trip just the two of you. Your photos are beautiful and that food...yum! I must say your hair is so cute and you are looking extra skinny. I want to send a request for you to do a Christmas decorations post, no doubt you have a darling collection.

How fun! I've never been to NYC but want to go. I can't believe how expensive the food is! That was cool that you got to see Shae too-she looks the same.

Hey! I am a mommy of two little ones, Navie (4), and Ridge(1). I have a great hubby, Dax, who works hard at a local software company. I do a little of this, and a lot of that. I work as a computer consultant a couple mornings a week, take a picture or two in my spare time, and make anything that I can! Life is good!
