We have had a crazy couple of days! Navie had her tonsils and adenoids out on Wednesday. Every time that we would go to the doctor somebody would comment on how big her tonsils were. Then when we were down at Primary Children’s for her appointment with the Nephrologists she told us that we should really consider getting them out. Dax also found an article that talked about how hard it was for little kids to sleep when they have large tonsils. The article said that it's like being poked all night long. So the next time that I was in for Ridge's well child I asked their doctor, and she said that it definitely could be affecting her. We have been having the hardest time dealing with naps lately. She doesn't want to take them anymore, but when she doesn't have them she is sooo ornery. Then when we give them to her she wants to sleep for 2 1/2 hours and still wakes up ornery and tired. We have tried everything and have even tried to wake her up after an hour with no help! Oh, and she snores like crazy! Sometimes we can hear her from our bedroom when she is asleep in her bedroom.

So fast forward to Wednesday…her surgery was at 6:30 in the morning at McKay Dee Hospital . Navie was okay with everything until they called her back to change into her gown. She DID NOT want to put it on. We tried every single “trick” to get it on, and she TRIPPED out. We finally got it on her, but she would not even think of taking the rest of her clothes off! You could tell she was getting a little nervous. After sitting there for 45 minutes or so they finally gave her some meds that made her loopy and more compliant and then took her back in the wagon. The doctor came and got us after the surgery and said it went great and that her tonsils and adenoids really were HUGE.
When we finally got to see her she was crying for her mommy. Oh, how can my heart break any more? That was one of the saddest moments ever. She cried like that and just laid on me for the next hour or two. Once they got her medication in her she is happy and almost normal, but once the meds wear off she starts to be lethargic and in pain again. I am just so thankful that it is over and we just hope that it helps!

Kami! So good to see your fam too! sad to have surgury so young! Taylor has had to be put under before and it was really hard for me! Keep in touch!
Poor little thing! It is so sad to see her little frown. She is normally so bright and cheery. I bet it was so hard for you to watch.
Poor little Navie! I hope it's a fast recovery! Frown or smile...she is still the cutest little girl I have seen :) Keep us updated on how she is doing. Let me know if you need anything!!
Hey Kami, I found your blog through Erins and just wanted to say hit and I had to tell you that I know how you feel. Justin had his tonsils out right before he turned 2 and it was the worst day ever but the best thing we have ever done. She will be so happy that you did this when she was little. I had mine out when I was 20 and it was horrible. Anyway, your kids are adorable and I hope everything is good.
I actually wanted to say HI not hit but apparently I don't know how to type.
That's so hard to go through. I bet it was especially hard on you as her mommy! Little kids heal so fast, so it's good that you got it done early. I had mine out when I was 20 and it was ten times worse than having a baby!
That is really sad, I bet it was hard to leave her. Hopefully it will be well worth it and she can sleep better. I wish there was a reason Kambri wouldn't take naps anymore!
